Light The Way
End Of Life Practice

My Story
My journey in the deathcare field began as a resident aide in a memory care unit. I cherish the memory of my first encounter in a room filled with hospice staff and a family embracing each other while singing songs over their 101-year-old loved one – it was a touching and transformative moment.
Following that experience, my dedication to end-of-life care grew, leading me to expand my knowledge to better serve in my role as a resident aide. Since then, I have worked as a hospice CNA, accompanied the dying with my dog and volunteering.
My
Experience
Over 15 years of caregiving experience
In my years of experience in healthcare and caregiving, I have had a variety of roles. My first experience with hospice as resident aide in the memory care unit was transformative. I also worked as a group home supervisor; I love all of the connections I have made in my time in this work. During my time as a hospice CNA, I learned so much from my patients and my amazing interdisciplinary team.
Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant
As an end of life doula, my education in occupational therapy has been invaluable. Through my training, I gained a deep understanding of the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals. I learned how to provide compassionate care and support patients and clients, as well their loved ones. My knowledge of adaptive equipment and techniques also allows me to help clients maintain their independence and dignity during this difficult time.
